A Veganomicon Giveaway and a Thank You

veganomiconThe Giveaway!

I’ll start by saying that I’m not the one giving away a copy of Veganomicon, my awesome blogger buddy, Sophia, is. I shouldn’t be telling you this because I want this cookbook and the more people who enter, the less chances I have of winning. But…I couldn’t help it. I love Sophia’s blog, Silk & Spice, and she’s giving away such a great prize that I had to share. So good karma for me!

If you’re not familiar with Veganomicon, here’s what Sophia has to say about it. “This really is the ultimate vegan cookbook. Everyday meals which are so simple and don’t use weird, unfamiliar ingredients. I found that when I started cooking from this book, it made me very comfortable with plant-based cooking, and I didn’t really need to go back to it for exact recipes. It gave me useful, everyday meal ideas which I could whip up quickly.”

So check out Silk and Spice, and good luck!

And a Thank You

I also want to send a big THANK YOU to Tracy, another one of my wonderful blogger buddies.  Tracy recently held a giveaway on her blog, Bee Fit with Tracy, to thank her readers for their support and friendship, and I won!

Here’s my prize package!

cookbook-stuffed-bee

1. The Blood Sugar Solution Cookbook. It isn’t vegan, but it still looks interesting and has a lot of vegan and easily veganized recipes. I’ll be trying some soon and will share how they turn out.

2. HipSsister belt. The black belt-looking thing is a “HipSsister” belt from Traveling Light and Comfortable. It’s so cool! It’s perfect for carrying my keys and doggie treats when I’m walking my dog and looks so much better than a fanny pack!

3. Bee Fit Bee. Can you believe that Tracy designed that adorable stuffed bee? It has Tracy’s tag line, food determines how we feel and heal, which is a great reminder for all of us. The bee’s are for sale for $5 with 100% of the proceeds donated to a charity supporting Nutritional education. Message Tracy at beefitwithtracy@gmail.com  if you’re interested.

If you’re not familiar with Bee Fit with Tracy, check it out! Tracy has a supportive blog that helps motivate you to make smart and healthy lifestyle choices.

Thank you Tracy both for this wonderful gift and your motivating blog!

  1. This was my first vegan cookbook. It should actually be called the Vegan Bible. It’s amazing!

Great resources – thanks for sharing. I am finding one of our greatest challenges is finding adequately equipped kitchens as we move from one country to the next. I would love to have a mortar and pestle for fresh herbs and spices as well as a blender for smoothies. However, I am not inclined to pack these items. Nor do I wish to purchase new ones wherever we go. Maybe someday. 🙂 – Mike

    • I’m sure I would find that challenging too! I’ll be honest, I don’t have a mortar and pestle. I haven’t missed one, but if I ever get one I’ll probably notice the difference in the flavor of the foods I make. As far as a blender, however; I don’t know how I’d manage eating plant-based without my Vitamix. I use that darn thing everyday to make smoothies, healthy hot chocolate with dates instead of sugar, other hot drinks, salad dressings, desserts, hummus, etc. It would be cumbersome to travel with, however. That is an issue! Good luck with your next move Mike and say “Howdy” to Florence. 🙂

  6. That’s the only cookbook on my Amazon wishlist! Thank you for the head’s up!

  7. I have a copy of the book and loved a few of her recipes. Thank you for the awesome giveaway!
