A Guarenteed Way to Lose Weight (but I Don’t Recommend It)

fitness body

A week ago I shared that I was going on a 21-Day Diet. My report for the first week is that I lost a lot of weight – yea! I can’t credit my will power, however. I lost the weight because I had the stomach flu. Not a fun way to diet and I DON’T recommend trying it at home.

Despite the fact that my illness already made me lose all the weight I wanted to lose, I’ll be continuing my diet for the next two weeks. I’ve got a lot of company visiting this summer (including Poppy from Bunny Kitchen, Mike from Applecore and Florence from Reflections), so I want to eat light this month because I know I’ll be indulging with my guests.

That’s all I wanted to say today, but please check my blog tomorrow because I’ll be sharing about getting on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon!!!

I wish that photo was me, but no matter how much weight I lost I wouldn’t look that great. The photo is courtesy of dietandweightloss.co.uk.

I thought that picture was of you Celeste. Oh well. Dream on Ralph 😉 ❤

  2. April @ Simplify Your Health says:

Oh you poor thing, you must of been really ill to lose so much weight 😦 hope you’re feeling well again now. X

    • Thanks for your kind words April. I really only had a few pounds to lose, so it’s not like I lost that much weight. And yes – I’m feeling great now! 🙂

      • April @ Simplify Your Health says:

Glad to hear it 🙂 losing weight at all while ill must mean you were pretty poorly, not nice 😦

  3. Well I’m glad you are on the Tonight Show and even happier that you won’t throw up over the host. 🙂 Blessings and have fun!

  4. May says:

I’m excited to hear that Poppy is visiting you – two of my bloggy vegan friends connecting in real life!

    • I’m so excited that Poppy is visiting too! I have to be honest that I’m really touched that she’s coming for a visit. I’m sure that both of us will share a lot on our blogs about the visit. Thanks so much for your comment and for reading – I really appreciate it!! Celeste 🙂

  5. Hope you are feeling better now! Stomach bugs are awful 😦

  6. BEAUTYCALYPSE says:

This could be a scene from The Devil Wears Prada: Emily Blunt’s character “I’m just one stomach flu away from my goal weight.”

    • What a line! I have to tell you, however; it really was a rapid way to get to my goal weight. Great to hear from you chica – I hope all is well in your neck of the woods. 🙂

      • BEAUTYCALYPSE says:

        All’s well, albeit stressful 😉

I must say, I have never struggled with weight, but my S.O. has lost super-stubborn 10 kg (!) after we strictly cut out wheat + processed sugars. It just melted during a few months.

    • My hubby and I avoid processed sugars (well, most of the time) too. This is sooo good for you in so many ways. And how lucky you are that you’ve never had weight issues. I was chubby from the moment I was born! I’m pretty fit these days, however. 🙂

      • BEAUTYCALYPSE says:

oh well, I’m actually semi-lucky because I seem to have had food intolerances from the day I was born on, only that people didn’t know back then (what seems like 100 years ago, science-wise). they were just astounded to see a seemingly super healthy baby nearly kick the bucket twice a year and could not find the reason why.

we’re really blessed with knowledge, however confusing and ever-changing, these days!

  7. oh not fun!
I can’t wait to hear about the tonight show !!!!
and please don’t throw up on it 😉

  8. bikerchick57 says:

I dieted similarly, three weeks ago, with a case of food poisoning. Ugh. Anyhoo, I will be back to read about your escapades with Jimmy Fallon.

  9. You poor thing! I lost 12-15 pounds from the flu. Kept a lot of it off. Glad you are doing better.

    • Twelve to fifteen pounds!!! Wow, you must have been even more sick than I was!! I only lost 5-6. Anyway, thanks for the well-wishes – I appreciate it! Celeste 🙂

  10. Hi Celeste, So sorry about your flu! Hope you are feeling much better now. Exciting things going on for you. I hope that we you will have a clip of your interview with Jimmy Fallon. He is on too late for this Vegan! LOL! Anne

    • Thanks for your lovely thoughts Annie!! I hope that one day I’ll have a clip of me chatting with Jimmy Fallon to share with you. I’ve got my fingers crossed!! 🙂

  11. Mike Lince says:

So sorry to learn you became ill. If there is a bright side, it is you got that out of the way before our visit. BTW – You are that beautiful – just not 20 y.o. anymore. 🙂 – Mike

    • What’s funny Mike is that this is the first time I’ve been sick since I went vegan. I was beginning to think I was invincible (guess not). Anyway, we’re looking forward to hanging out with you guys again and hearing about your new plans. Celeste 🙂

  12. Reflections says:

Thanks for the mention Celeste. Looking forward to seeing you and Paul and in getting our first real Vegan cooking class. Hope you feel better soon. Rest up and see you soon!

  13. uberdish says:

So many people I know are ill right now. It’s crazy. Hope you are feeling in tip-top shape very, very soon. Looking forward to your next post. Jimmy Fallon?! That’s awesome!!!

  14. Had the same thing! Now that plus the allergies, I’m out of commission lately. Hope you’re feeling better!!!

    • So sorry that you’ve been so under-the-weather Janice – what a bummer. And I so feel for you with the allergies – I’ve got those too. Get better chica! 🙂

  15. Oh, dear! Get well soon, Celeste!

  16. stacilys says:

Oh no, sick? That’s no fun. I guess the only good thing about that is the loosing weight. But yes, I agree with you, it’s not a way I would recommend weight-loss either.
I will be traveling to Canada, and like you, I know I’ll be indulging there. Hence, my little fit challenge that I have going on.
    🙂

    • You gotta indulge when you’re on vacation – that’s part of the fun!! But it’s never fun to come home in too-tight pants, so I get why you’re doing the fit challenge. Stay strong chica – you can do it! Celeste 🙂 PS – Looking forward to your visit to SoCal one of these days too!!

      • stacilys says:

Yea, not fun at all. When pants get too tight, I start to worry. Then I start my whole diet plan. And then my husband says, “Oh no, not again”. He’s used to it by now. Hehehe.
        🙂

  17. Poppy says:

So excited for our indulgences 😉 I will probably need a few of those stomach flus to get rid of what I gain! I joke of course!! Can’t wait to be with you guys! 🙂

  18. TK says:

That happened to me in high school. I had been trying to lose some weight and suddenly caught the flu. In one week I dropped what was left of the weight I wanted to use. I just ate normally after that (and by that I mean I tried to eat healthy) and my weight seemed to stabilize at that lower weight. I don’t know what effect the flu had on that stabilization. It certainly wasn’t a healthy way to lose that weight.

  19. carmen says:

Being sick is no fun, that’s why they say it’s better to be have a few extra pounds to fall back on in case of illness. You look great Celeste and I have the photos to prove it! Heath is more important than being slender. Some of these model and celebrities have problems with anorexia, I think of Karen Carpenter and others, so sad. I have nothing to fall back on, I weigh 115 but I’m not anorexic, I’ve been 115 all my grown up life (I think I’m grown up) 😉

    ❤ carmen
