Vegan Chocolate Valentine’s Gifts

vegan chocolate valentines strawberry bouquet

My husband and I cheated on our plant-strong diet too much over the holidays, mostly on sugar. We’ve been back on track since New Year’s, however; so I decided to treat my hubby with chocolate for Valentine’s Day. An occasional indulgence (as long as it’s really occasional!) ain’t gonna kill him. Here’s some goodies I’m considering:

1. Vanilla Kissed Strawberry Bark

A hint of vanilla mingles with fruity strawberries and smooth dark chocolate in this romantic, gluten-free bark. This would be a thrifty choice at $15.00 from Allison’s Gourmet.

2. Lagusta’s Luscious Small Assorted Collection

A fabulous selection of 100% fair trade, organic and vegan truffles, bonbons, caramels and toffee. This looks like a great pick, and I love that the company combines a deep commitment to social justice, environmentalism and animal rights with an obsessive commitment to artisan techniques of a chocolatier. $32.00 from Lagusta’s Luscious.

3. A Bouquet of Chocolate-dipped Strawberries

I used to make homemade chocolates for my hubby on Valentine’s Day, but not anymore. Don’t shame me for not being romantic – it’s just that I binge when I do. And believe me, making him deal with the mood I get into when I’m crashing from my sugar high is not romantic at all. Despite my better judgment, I’m still tempted by this recipe I found for a Bouquet of Chocolate-Dipped Strawberries. Can I resist temptation enough to make these? Hmmm…

4. Valentine’s Day Chocolate Collection

This wonderful assortment from No Whey! Chocolates includes zinfandel truffles, espresso and sea salt caramels, forest fruit flower, English pistachio toffee, Mayan truffles, coconut joy, peanut butter cup and a strawberry heart. $26.00 from No Whey! Chocolates.

5. Truffle Love Box

I thought that going vegan meant no more milk chocolate – but no! Premium Chocolatiers has discovered how to make vegan “milk” chocolate. If I give my hubby one of their Valentine’s gift boxes I’ll get to sample their cruelty free “milk” chocolate (now that’s tempting!). Premium Chocolatiers has lots of Valentine’s Gift’s to choose from like this Truffle Love Box. $29.95.

Although not a vegan company, Oliver Kita has a line of vegan chocolates that uses only the best French organic and Swiss sources and the finest ingredients complemented by traditional French methods. I’d prefer to order from a vegan company, but I found a glowing review for this gift box that might convince me otherwise. $45.00 from Oliver Kita.

7. Belgian Dark Chocolate Gift Assortment

This lovely gift box includes ganaches and fruit creams, hazelnut praline, marzipan, chocolate cordial cherries, and more – all covered in the finest rich, intense, vegan Belgian dark chocolate. This sounds amazing and it’s just $17.99 from The Vegan Store.

Darn it! I wish my hubby didn’t read my blog because now he knows he’s getting for Valentine’s Day. At least he doesn’t know which of these he’s getting.

Really, Celeste, more temptations already- we just got done with Christmas :). Many thanks-forwarding to the BF so he can indulge my chocolate tendencies on V-DAY.

    • Hey chica! The theory is that you’re supposed to give these chocolates away. Oh who am I kidding! When my hubby’s chocolate’s come I’ll probably eat more of them than he does. Hehe – oh well. 🙂

  3. Stacey says:

Great selections and good idea! Thanks, my dear!

Hi Celeste! You know I don’t like sweets but this post is making me feel I should make at least one of your ideas for Mark. He LOVES chocolates! It was so nice to see you and Paul two weekends in a row 🙂

    • Hey there Maria! You are SO lucky that you don’t like sweets chica!!! But you married into a family with one crazy sweet tooth. Wenzler’s LOVE sugar! I’ve been trying to break myself from the sugar addiction since going vegan, but it’s still got a hold on me. Maybe one day. And yes, it was wonderful seeing you guys for the weddings. Your wedding was incredible, by the way. The venue was perfect, you looked amazing and my vegan meal was delish!! Celeste 🙂

Not so easy finding vegan ones here

I simply love the Chocolate Dipped Strawberry Bouquet for the presentation alone. My daughters would be delighted with this too, so it’s going onto my baking list. Thank you Celeste.

I’m not really a fan of Valentine’s Day and my boyfriend and I never celebrate it. But I could sure go for this strawberry chocolate bouquet!!! That’s such an awesome idea 🙂

  13. stacilys says:

Oh my goodness! Yes please! Can I have them all? Hey there Celeste. I really love the bouquet idea (more for the idea). It’s soooo cute. And the fact that you would make them becomes that much more romantic. However, I love the selection of number 4 too.
Let us know which you choose ok.
    Blessings =)

  14. Reblogged this on Tania Marie's Blog and commented:
Every day of the year is opportunity to give from your heart and share love, but sometimes those marker days are an added bonus reminder to turn up the gratitude meter. As we approach Valentine’s Day, which many people enjoy celebrating, you might be thinking of ways to indulge your loved ones, and maybe even yourself, with some of the chocolate love this day has become synonymous with for many. And if you happen to also be vegan, there is no longer any reason you can’t enjoy all the chocolate bliss along with others, while also supporting the environment, animals, and your own health and well-being with pure, organic ingredients. My friend Celeste has a great vegan blog called “Honk If You’re Vegan” (where she blogs about all things vegan from recipes to reviews, ramblings, health and nutrition) and she shared this “yummy” post on Vegan Chocolate Valentine’s Gifts I hope you’ll enjoy. She provides several great gift options at affordable prices. They all look amazing! Some other options, which also include some raw vegan chocolate, include (but not limited to): Coracao Confections – http://www.coracaoconfections.com/collections/valentines-day-gifts, Sacred Chocolate – http://www.sacredchocolate.com/sweetheart-gift-boxes/, Lulu’s Chocolate – http://www.luluschocolate.com/shop_chocolate.html, or perhaps your own basket mix of scrumptious chocolate bars from Righteously Raw Chocolate – http://www.righteouslyrawchocolate.com/, or the amazing Kate Magic’s Raw Living assortment of ethical, high-vibe chocolate (which I just got to sample when she brought me some from the UK) – http://www.rawliving.eu/raw-food/chocolate-bars.html. However you choose to celebrate Valentine’s Day, or (like me) any day you would like an infusion of decadent pleasure, you can enjoy your chocolates without compromise and with a lot of intentional love. Enjoy!!

    • Hey there Tania! Thanks so much for the reblog and lovely write up. I checked out the links you shared and found lots more tempting goodies. I love that most of the companies you listed have raw chocolate. I’ve only had raw chocolate once and it was amazing. I had it at Peace Pies, an awesome little raw vegan restaurant in Encinitas. Hmmm… I could even order my hubby something from them – he’d love that. I hope all is well chica! Celeste 🙂

      • yes, i love raw chocolate! it really is delicious and mouth-watering. thanks for the info on the vegan place in encinitas. i hadn’t heard of it. i’ll have to check it out next time i’m down there. much love!

  15. Hey Celeste! It’s so lovely to read a post from you after so long.
The strawberry chocolate bouquet idea is amazing. I love how it’s looking! And everyone deserves a break from strict diets every now and then, you guys deserve it too. I hope you enjoy Valentines day! Radhika.

    • I love the strawberry chocolate bouquet too! And yes, I took some time off from blogging over the holidays. I was just too busy! Thanks so much for reading and I hope you’re having a lovely week. Celeste 🙂

  16. Such a great idea! 🙂

  17. All of these vegan chocolate gifts look so good, esp the strawberry bark 🙂 miam!!!

  18. Ralph says:

Oh dear Celeste. You’ve now told me what you are going to send to Spain 😉 Ralph xox 😀

  19. Laura says:

This is such an amazing list! Looks delicious!

A side note – I’m not sure why, but your posts aren’t showing up in my WordPress reader so I’m missing them! So sorry my dear!

    • Thanks so much for your comment Laura! Don’t know why my posts aren’t showing up in your reader, but I’ve had similar issues with posts not showing up in my reader too. Who knows! Hope you’re having a lovely week! Celeste 🙂

  20. sophiazerg says:

I’m in love with that strawberry bouquet!!!

  21. reocochran says:

This was a delicious collection! The most healthy and somewhat reasonably priced way to go vegan would be to make your own healthy chocolate dip and use those strawberries or other fruit slices. I happen to love dark chocolate dipped sweet pineapple bites! Sometimes I have even used dried pineapple, not fresh… Fun post and now, I have to go home and make some cocoa, only chocolate in my house, at this time! Take it easy, chica! Smiles, Robin

    • I didn’t go with the healthy, reasonably priced gift for my hubby. His chocolates already came, so I guess it’s okay to share that I got him a box of Rose City Chocolates. They’re vegan and wonderful!!! I really like your dark chocolate dipped pineapple bites idea, however. I just might try that another time – it sounds delicious!! Enjoy your hot chocolate! Celeste 🙂

  22. Oh, that’s a tough choice. I like chocolate bark, because the idea is completely new to me. But, hey, any other option is good as well. It’s chocolate, after all! You can’t go wrong with chocolate! 🙂
