Do you know someone who needs a little luck? Why not get her this super soft and cozy pullover sweatshirt adorned with a good luck elephant (an elephant with its trunk raised means good luck). 5. Give the Gift of Life!

Any animal lover would appreciate the gift of animal adoption. Farm Sanctuary’s Adopt-A-Farm-Animal Project gives you the opportunity to sponsor a rescued farm animal. By adopting a farm animal, you’ll help provide their food, shelter, and veterinary costs, and you’ll show your opposition to farm animal cruelty. Adoptions can be made in a gift-recipient’s name and the recipient will receive information about their adopted “pet” including a picture, his/her story, and even details about visiting their animal. $10 to $50 per month for 1 year from Farm Sanctuary.

6. Quick-Fix Vegan Cookbook: Healthy Homestyle Meals in 30 Minutes or Less

Since I post a lot of recipes on my blog, people assume I love to cook. I don’t. I cook because I want to feed my family delicious healthy vegan food. The faster and easier I can do this, the better. If you know a lazy vegan cook like me, I can tell you that she or he will appreciate this quick-fix cookbook. From $8.63 on Amazon.com.

7. Vegucated DVD

Vegucated is a documentary that follows three New Yorker’s who agree to go vegan for six weeks to learn what it’s all about. I love this movie – it’s what prompted me to go vegan. If you know anyone, vegan or not, who hasn’t seen it, then please put this under the tree for him or her. $19.99 from getvegucated.com.

vegucated8. Frey Vegan Vino

In case you didn’t know, not all wines are vegan. Many are processed with egg proteins, milk proteins, fish bladders, bone marrow and lobster or crab shells. I’m a novice when it comes to vegan wines, but my blogger buddy at Ohh So Fattening highly recommends Frey wines. If you want to learn more about vegan wine, check out Barnivore and  On Vegan Wine by Beautycalypse. $10 – $20 from Frey vineyards.

  8. Celeste! I think you just broke my heart. Not all wine is vegan? I’m crushed. Crushed I say. 😦

  9. mrsnikkiv says:

  13. BEAUTYCALYPSE says:

aaaw, the “I don’t have any spare ribs” got me laughing with a tear in my eye.
beautiful selection, celeste, as always. your compilations are lighthearted and fun *smoooooooch*
also thanks for including my ‘educational’ post.
I bought vegan prosecco, red and white for my event last week (http://beautycalypse.com/2013/12/01/a-merry-merry-season-start-international-giveaway/) where they wines were all the craze! people kept asking me where I got them and why and how… allergy sufferers said they never experienced wine that was so light and not giving them any sensations of heavyness, or headache. it was very hard to keep a straight face and not jump and yell things like “plant-based food rules!!! gotcha!!!” :’D

    • That’s wonderful!! I wish I could say the same about the wines I served for Thanksgiving. I printed a list of vegan wines available at Trader Joe’s and chose two (one from Castle Rock and from Louis Jadot). Neither was guest-worthy. Oh well, Trader Joe’s has many more for me to try and I’m confident that at least one of them will be a gem.

Oh, and I was happy to include your wine post – your posts rock chica!! 🙂

      • BEAUTYCALYPSE says:

the trouble with vegan wines is that it takes really good winemakers to make great vintages. otherwise – as you said – vegan wines are likely to become not-so-guest-worthy. maybe you know a great winemaker in california who’s likely to embark on a journey of taste AND kindness? 🙂 I like just asking people! “why don’t you try make your wines vegan?” 😉
        hugs from berlin

  14. BEAUTYCALYPSE says:

    the, not theY wines 😉

  15. See, here’s the thing about Christmas shopping. I want all those things! I’m sort of a “one for you, two for me” kind of shopper. I think maybe that defeats the “giving” purpose of the holidays. Really! These are all great!

  16. .Jeanne Allen says:

The 30 min. Cookbook looks good for a lazy cook like me who wants to cook healthy meals.

  17. foodbod says:

Great list, the book looks good x

  18. Poppy says:

What a wonderful collection. I SO want that wallet!! 😀

  19. I think I am in agreement with others…that owl wallet is SUPER adorable! Want!

  20. reocochran says:

I meant to tell you when I read this the first time, how much I appreciate that you included animals in it! Being named “Robin” I have an affinity for birds. I have also, found out zoos appreciate having your old pumpkins, melons, and other things from the garden donated for their wildlife to enjoy. I love the owl wallet and also, the elephant sweatshirt. I have another suggestion for a gift to help others, give to the local animal humane society different products, like cat or dog food, kitty litter, or volunteer to walk the animals!

    • Hey Robin! Thanks so much for your thoughts chica! What a great idea to give the local animal humane society items they can use – I’d never considered that before. That would be a great gift to help animals. Of course, adopting an animal would also be a great gift for the animal. I’m not big on giving animals as gifts, however. I think that adopting an animal is a serious commitment, and someone receiving an animal as a gift may not be ready to do what needs to be done to take care of the animal. You are appreciated girlfriend! 🙂

  21. jennypugh says:

I love the Let it Be Vegan Leather Wallet! I’ve added it to my Christmas wishlist. This is such a great post 😀

  22. That is the cutest pig ever. Love that book and what they are doing there. Cool ideas here!

  23. Oooh, I love the wallet! Also, I’ve been crushing on that lucky elephant sweater since I saw it on Instagram, love it! Great list of ideas Celeste.

PS~I also really like Robin’s suggestions of donating items or time to local animal shelters. I never knew that zoos accepted items either, great information.

  24. sophiazerg says:

Really great list, Celeste! I love the wallet, the design looked familiar then I realized my son’s owl pillow is from the same company. He has the Let It Be Boho Owl pillow, so cute. 🙂

    Great suggestions, Celeste!
We got ourselves the T-Shirts “VEGAN” from Vegan Essesntials last the St.Valentine’s day )))
    It is a crowd-stopper ! (:
One gets so much attention! Everyone will ask you about veganism whether you are in the line to a movie, on the farmer’s market, in a bus or in a restaurant… they will complement you or will just stare at your back reading, or turn their heads at you (: some will even start debating which is fun too (: that gives so much opportunities to spread the word
and also…. if you know a single vegan friend – give it to her/him – it is a total ‘pick-up’ thing, hehe (:
We love the first bag too (: ..any ‘vegan’ bag (:
    cheers,
    S&H
