I’ve been collecting Thanksgiving recipes for months so that I could wow my family with how good vegan food can be. As fate would have it, however; I’m not going home for Thanksgiving this year.

I’m not complaining; I’ve got a great reason for missing the holiday. Instead of spending our vacation time watching my family eat turkey, my husband and I are saving it so we can go to my sister’s wedding on December 27th and then to my brother’s wedding on January 4th.

Both my brother and my sister have found partners that I’m excited to welcome to our family and I’m delighted to celebrate with them. My sister even asked me to officiate her wedding. Due to stage fright, I hesitated, but in the end I accepted. My husband, an actor who loves to perform, is going to do it with me and we’ve got a fun routine planned out.

Anyway, it will likely be just me and my hubby for Thanksgiving so I doubt I’ll use many of the recipes I’ve collected. This doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy them, however! Here’s ten Thanksgiving desserts that are sure to please.

    • My grandfather was a wine taster, but I think a Snickerdoodle-ologist would be even more fun (or maybe both jobs together!). And okay, I’ll post a video of the routine. I just hope I’m not blushing too much from stage fright!!! 🙂

    • It will be hard for me to have some of my grandfather’s wine since he’s been 6-feet under for years! But it’s a wedding, so the wine will be flowing. Oh, but that usually happens after the ceremony – darn!!

    • Thanks for your thoughtful comment Florence! I’ll be honest, since going vegan I’m not crazy about going home for the holidays. It’s a challenge to be vegan on such occasions. I’ll probably post a video of my sister’s wedding (assuming I don’t get too nervous and stumble over my words too much!). Have a great day!!

    These desserts are so pretty it does not make sense! When’s the dessert party??! Thanksgiving is a interesting holiday for those who focus on plants because people expect the meat front and center. I’ve always liked the sides better, even back when I ate meat.

    • I’m with you! Even when I was eating meat, the Turkey was my least favorite item at the Thanksgiving meal. I’m hosting my second vegan Thanksgiving this year. I was a new vegan last year, so I was still learning how to cook and not everything turned out. I’m looking forward to feeding my omnivore friends and family vegan food this year, however.     • I’m so excited to hear that Fae!! It really is easy to bake vegan. Eggs are easily replaced by using ground flax seeds that have been mixed with water and butter can be replaced with Earth Balance. Or if you want to make things really healthy, you can replace butter or oil with an avocado. Please let me know if you make any vegan items so I can highlight them on my blog! Happy Halloween!     • Haha, I just realized that the cookies are not vegan. Oh well, they’d be easy to veganize, so I added a note about that. They do look amazing, however!! I’m happy to share them. Celeste 🙂

    • I don’t know if you have a Vitamix or other high speed blender, but that’s what I use in place of a food processor. I honestly don’t know what I’d do without my Vitamix – I use it every day!

      I’m chuckling to myself a bit at the moment because I’m remembering a funny post I read about things vegans say, and something like what I just said was on the list – haha! Have a lovely day girlfriend! 🙂
