I’ve been vegan for two years and have yet to visit a farm sanctuary. There’s one not far from me in LA, and I keep telling myself I’m gonna to go, but… Well, you know – life gets in the way.
Thanks to my reader, Cowgirl, however; I’m finally going! This happened when I held a Cash Giveaway in September, and Cowgirl told me that if she won that she wanted me to donate the winnings to LA Farm Sanctuary. I told her that if she won that I’d hand deliver a them a check. Well, she won!
So on November 3rd, Cowgirl, my hubby, my sis and her partner and I are going on a tour of the Farm Sanctuary. And if you’re local, we’d love for you to join us!
You Are Invited!!!
To a Los Angeles Farm Sanctuary meetup on Sunday, November 3rd at 11:45 AM.
We’ll meet at the picnic grounds outside the sanctuary at 11:45 for a potluck picnic lunch. I’m bringing wraps and drinks, so we’ll need some sweets and goodies from the rest of you.
Then at 1 o’clock, we’ll go on a tour of the sanctuary.
The Farm Sanctuary is about 40 minutes from Los Angeles. For the address and directions, click here.
If you plan to go, please let me know so I can make enough wraps for everyone!
Great idea, have a wonderful day! š
Thanks! It should be fun!!
Darn it! Would love to come but that is the Healty Taste of LA! š¦
That’s too bad Katherine – it would have been fun for you to join us. I’ve never heard about the Healthy Taste of LA – I’ll have to look that up! Celeste š
Enjoy Celeste – if its anything like my recent trip to a donkey sanctuary you will love it (and want to save them all!) š
Thanks so much for your comment – I’m really looking forward to it!!
Reblogged this on Wolf Is My Soul.
Thanks for the reblog – I appreciate it!!
I’m so looking forward to our excursion and meeting you and the folks in your life that I’ve only met through your blog. Now I just have to decide what yummy treat to make for the potluck! š
I’m sooo excited about this meetup Cowgirl, and looking forward to tasting whatever yummy treat you bring too!! See you soon!
Have a lovely day Celeste. Sorry. I can’t make it from Spain. My rowboat has sprung a leak š Ralph xox š
Oh come on Ralph, just put a little cork in the hole and start rowing!! Hehe š
I live next to a cork tree forest. I may be gone some time to cut out a little cork …… but it will probably end up in a wine bottle anyway š
Hehe!!
Yes, you must. It’s an awesome experience! You live near LA? Lucky lady. Have you been to the vegan Ethiopian restaurant? I love it!
I live in Orange County, so I get to LA on occasion. I’ve never been to the vegan Ethiopian restaurant in LA, but one of my favorite restaurants is Muzita Bistro, a vegan-friendly Ethiopian restaurant in San Diego. I wrote about it on this post, if you’re curious about it: http://honkifyourevegan.com/2013/04/07/10-vegan-friendly-san-diego-restaurants/. Thanks for telling me about the place in LA, however; I’ll have to check it out!
And you’re right! I am lucky to live in SoCal – I love it here!! Thanks for your comment – I appreciate it!
Thanks;)
Oh wow….I will be there in spirits :).
Have fun.
Wish you could come Sonal – I’d love to meet you!! I guess I’ll have to settle for “in spirits” this time, however. Celeste š
š
I would so be there if we were still in Los Angeles! I look forward to your story following the visit. I am sure with your fancy camera that you will have some great photos! – Mike
Oh Mike, you have more faith in me than I have in myself!! Hehe;)
Cries. I wish I could teleport.

So wish you could come Poppy!! Someday…
Have fun guys!! Please take some pictures š
Wish I could! Have a wonderful time š
Thanks for your well wishes!!
I wish I lived in LA! So jealous! The closest to me is pretty up north and why I haven’t gone yet. Hoping to go to one next summer.
Have a great time!
I wish you could come too Janice!!! I’d love to hear about it if you get to the one by you next summer, however. Celeste š
I really wish I could go! I hope its great!
I wish you could go too!!!! I know you’d bring us yummy goodies – hehe!! Seriously, I’d love to meet you too!! Celeste š
Hey Celeste ~ A friend from work is interested in joining us with his wife and mother-in-law. They are doing a major home renovation so they need to see if they can work out their schedule, but if they can swing it, they are definitely up for it. I’ll let you know once they confirm one way or the other. A couple of others were interested as well, but are traveling that weekend.
That’s great! I’ll plan for them, but let me know if they’re not able to make it. š
Will do! š
I’m looking forward to your photos and details of your adventure!
Thanks for sharing your story on my blog which I just published–fresh off the press!!

I don’t know how I missed your comment until today, but somehow I did!! Anyway, thanks for the comment!! š
Now that’s sounds like a brilliant idea! Bit too far to get there from Australia, but I look forward to seeing the photos of the gathering in a future blog post!
You cold do like Ralph above, and get out your row boat – haha!!
As long as I don’t have to row!
Hehe!
This is such a terrific idea!! Wish I was local!
I so wish you could come! Celeste š
How lovely! I would love to check out farm sanctuaries in Buenos Aires, too (but most of them are not within the centre, only in the countryside/removed areas), there is one I want to go but kind of far, and the farm has over hundreds of dogs, cats, goats, horses, lambs, chinchillas, etc. that were rescued from abuse, accidents, injuries, and of course illnesses.
Hey Rika! It’s wonderful that these places exist, and I hope that in time there are more of them and less factory farms (actually I hope in time there are NO factory farms!). Thanks for stopping by, it’s always a pleasure to here from you!! Celeste š
What a fabulous idea. And it’s really great to be able to support this place. I’m sorry that I wont be able to join you, but am looking forward to hearing all about it.
Too bad you can’t come, but I’ll do my best to take some awesome photos š
Hey Celeste, just read the post about you, California girls. You are so cool, It’s amazing how you both felt better going vegan, I do too š
Happy birthday (whenever it is) š
Thanks so much for reading my story – I appreciate that! I really do feel better eating this way. Isn’t it great to feel great!!! Celeste š
Absolutely!! š
I’ve visited it myself. Definitely worth it. š
Thanks so much for stopping by Michael!! I’m really looking forward to the trip, both visiting the Farm Sanctuary and meeting some of my blogger buddies. I’d love for you to come!!
