Marionberry Ice Cream Pie – There’s an App for That!

I’m one of those people who never win anything. Despite this, I entered a giveaway hosted by Sarina from Earthgiven Kitchen. She drew me in with her luscious Healthy Peanut Butter Fudge Ripple Ice Cream. Just check this stuff out!

After drooling over her photo, I noticed that she was giving away 3 codes for the Vegan Delish app created by Carry from Carry on Vegan. To be honest, I’m not much of a recipe app girl. I’ve had a couple and never used them. This app, however; intrigued me because the recipes are vegan, gluten-free and made with little to no oil, salt or sugars. That sounded good, so I entered. And what do you know – I won!

I downloaded the app and found it more user-friendly than the other recipe apps I’ve had. Of course, a recipe app is only as good as the recipes, so I tried a few out. The first thing I made was the Tomato & Butternut Bisque, which both my husband and I loved. Then I made the Ultimate Tofu Burgers which were also a hit.

Carry definitely knows how to make main dishes, but what about dessert? I decided to try the Marionberry Ice Cream Pie, but when I went to the store for the ingredients, they were out of dates. So while at the store, I searched for another dessert recipe using the app (how convenient is that!) and chose the Peanut Butter Soft Serve. This was a real treat! I still want to make the Marionberry Pie, however.

What I Love About the Vegan Delish App

Everything is 100% vegan and gluten-free.

The recipes use little oil, salt or sugars.

It’s great for those following a healthy, plant-based diet like The Engine 2 Diet or Joel Fuhrman’s Eat to Live.

The recipes are great. It’s obvious that they’ve been tested and perfected.

It’s easy to use.

About Carrie

I was impressed with the Vegan Delish app, so I did some snooping on Carry, the app’s creator. I found out that she went vegan in 2010 after reading Alicia Silverstone’s book The Kind Diet. Then she was inspired Joel Fuhrman and others to eat a nutrient-dense vegan diet which transformed her health. It resolved her long-standing issues with migraines, anxiety, allergies, and hormonal imbalance.

Check out her before and after photos here!

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You

Thank you Sarina and Carrie for hosting this fab giveaway and for your wonderful inspirational blogs – you guys rock!

Yum, I would do anything for a piece of that pie! I have to agree, I never win anything. It’s funny, now wih social media, there are so many more contests, I sometimes enter some with only 12 contestants, and I still have yet to win! 😉
Let us know how the pie is when you do make it.
