Savory Seattle

Plum Bistro’s amazing brownies!

It’s been two weeks since my Pacific Northwest trip and I’m finally writing about all the fab restaurants my husband and I discovered. We did a lot of eating on our trip, so this post will just cover Seattle.

Our first Seattle meal was brunch at Plum Bistro with my blogger buddy Jean and two of her Seattle blogger friends, Megan and Molly. Since Jean already wrote about this, I’ll just say that it was AWESOME! Click here to read Jean’s post.

After brunch, my husband and I drove to Port Townsend to continue our tour, so our second Seattle meal wasn’t until lunch a week later at Chaco Canyon Organic Café. We loved Chaco! The atmosphere was organic, casual and hip and the food was outstanding.

Here’s their delicious pizza!

And carrot cake to die for – yum!

Then for dinner, we went back to Plum Bistro where we were seated next to a guy with a big, fancy camera taking pictures of his food. I felt intimidated. I was sure this guy was some famous blogger whose photos were going to put me to shame (especially since I’d left my Canon camera at home).

At the same time, I was dying to see his blog post so I asked him if he was a blogger. He laughed and said, “No, I’m just an amateur photographer.” We chatted for a while and he told me he’d send me the photos he took – and he did! Here are some of Komy Ko’s lovely Plum Bistro photos.

And dinner at Plum, by the way, was just as wonderful as lunch.

Our final stop on our Seattle culinary tour was The Wayward Vegan Café. This place had little atmosphere, but they made up for it with friendliness and HUGE portions of healthy, tasty vegan fare. They had great coffee too, and although we didn’t try any, their desserts looked amazing.

We didn’t have a single bad meal in Seattle – it’s a yummy place to be vegan!

“A yummy place to be vegan”! What a compliment! Seattle has long been on my top-five list of places I want to go and now it is more than ever!!!

    • I hope you go and are able to eat at even more of their vegan restaurants. There were so many that we wanted to go check out, but just didn’t have the time. And of course you have to write about it if you go!! Celeste 🙂

  2. I’m sorry I missed out on brunch with you all. Weekends = very late mornings = afternoons for us!

  3. Sounds so good, looks so good…yum!

    • Yes, it was a fabulous culinary trip! There are so many great vegan restaurants in Seattle – I only wish we could have gone to ALL of them. Thanks for your comment! Celeste 🙂

I always love hearing people’s stories about Seattle, my home town. Seattle has always been progressive on the restaurant scene. I am as interested in the neighborhoods as much as the restaurants you visited, like Capital Hill and the U District. When you drive around a bit you realize Seattle is not that big. Congested at times, but not too big. Anyway, I love your story and the guest photos. – Mike

    • Hey Mike! We really didn’t spend all that much time in Seattle on our whirlwind trip. I would have loved to have walked around the neighborhoods and checked out some of the places you told us about (Paul had your list in his pocket, but we never made it to any of them). We didn’t even go to the space needle, for gosh sakes!! We did have some fabulous coffee, however. The coffee shops didn’t make it into my post because it was getting too long. I always appreciate hearing from you Mike – thanks for your comment!! Celeste 🙂

  5. You’re making friends all over the place! Gosh that food looks good.

  6. I love discovering organic cafés while traveling, it’s the best! And I’m very jealous that you got to go to Plum Bistro!

  7. So very nice.loved the tofu dish….it looks amazing. Those brownies look divine.

    • I’ve got to attempt baking a vegan carrot cake one of these days. And I do feel lucky that I got to go to all these places. They were fab!! Thanks for your comment! Celeste 🙂

  9. Looks like great vegan food in Seattle 😉

These all sound and look delicious! I hope to someday travel west of the Grand Canyon. I have seen the beauty and wonder of that side of it! I also have visited a lot of states east of the G.C. I would love to see Seattle and go to these fine restaurants, too. This was a great post!
