Check Out My New Look!

I wanted to customize the look of my blog, and my husband happily agreed to do it, but this made me nervous. I knew he could do it, but… Let’s just say that we’ve worked on projects like this before and it’s not the best thing for our marriage.

Thankfully, my husband understood why I wanted someone else to work on my blog, and I started looking for a blog designer. I figured the best way to find a great designer was the same way I found my awesome hair stylist. Find someone who has the look I want and ask who did it.

One blog I love both for its content and the way it looks is Kasia’s Edible Vie. I contacted Kasia and she gave me Natasha Basacchi’s name. I’m so glad she did because I hired Natasha and absolutely love the look she gave my blog. It’s exactly what I wanted!

If any of you want to make your blog pretty, I can’t recommend Natasha enough. She is responsive, creative and patient. Not only this, but her prices are reasonable. Contact her at natasha.basacchi@gmail.com and see what she can do for you.

Thanks Natasha – you did an awesome job!!!

This is so amazing – perfect! I’m interested in hearing more about the process – did you explain exactly what you were looking for? Pick from a list of images or examples? And did you actually get a whole new theme too? I’m looking to change the look and format of my blog as well so I’m definitely interested! Thanks for sharing!!

    • Hey Kristin! It was really easy. Since my blog is “Honk if You’re Vegan” I thought it would be fun to use a car in the design. I also wanted to use the color green because I promote eating lots of greens. I just told Natasha these two things, told her about some blog designs that I liked and told her that I wanted a lighthearted feel and let her run with it. She came back with something and then we kept playing with it until we got just what I wanted. And yes, I got a new theme. Natasha can probably explain the process better. Here’s her email if you want to contact her: natasha.basacchi@gmail.com

    • Keep me posted Kristin! Celeste:)

I LOVE the new look of your blog!! It looks SO great!! I’m definitely going to write that girl’s name down. She is quite talented!!

Also, I had been meaning to email you about a recent movie I watched. I don’t think I’d mentioned this one to you before….A Place at The Table? It’s a documentary you might find interesting (you had shared a documentary with me in the past). 🙂

    Cheers-

    • Thanks for checking out my new look – I appreciate it. And please do contact Natasha – she is a pleasure to work with! And thanks so much for telling me about ‘A Place at The Table?’ I looked it up, and I can’t believe that1 in 4 children in the U.S. don’t know where their next meal is coming from. That’s so very sad. I will watch the movie for sure. And thank you for being such an inspiration!! Celeste:)

This is absolutely wonderful, Celeste!! I love it! It ties the “honk” part of the blog name in beautifully. (It just needs a little goose driving the VW, honking out the window.)

  10. Deborah says:

PS Honking out the window because he’s happy you’re not going to eat him for Christmas dinner.

    • Haha! A goose driving the VW would be adorable. Maybe I also need to buy a yellow VW with a ‘Honk if You’re Vegan’ bumper sticker. But, I don’t have the money for that right now – oh well. Thanks so much for your comment – it made me laugh. Celeste:)

Love the new look and the way it incorporates your blog title and illustrates your beginning and ongoing journey with veganism.

  12. PM says:

Cute, clever and whimsical. I love the trail of green leaves from the tail pipe. It really incorporates the essence of your blog. Well done!

    • Hey cowgirl! Thanks for your thoughts. Yea, the leaves coming out of the tail pipe is just awesome! Celeste:)

      • I think the car and leaves Honk If You’re Vegan logo (without the blog-specific tag line) would look super cute on a white t-shirt or spaghetti strap tank top. (I’d say bumper sticker, but I have this weird hang up about putting stickers on my car. LOL.) Let me know if you ever make any and I’ll buy one.

Or put it on Cafe Press or something like that, let others do the work, and maybe make enough commission to pay our blog fees. People could put the logo on shirts, bumper stickers or whatever they like. Just a thought. A selfish one really. Clearly I want a cute tank top! 😉 But the logo and name is so cute, I’d bet they’ll sell. Much more fun and whimsical than some of the more in-your-face veganwear that’s out there. Plus you could wear it around and turn people on to your blog when they inevitably ask about your top or maybe meet other vegans “in the wild”. 🙂

    • I’ll be sure to let you know if I ever do tee shirts or anything cowgirl!! Celeste:)

Your new look is wonderful, happy and fun to read!

    • Thanks Anna! I appreciate the comment. I also really appreciate all of your support with my blog. It means a lot to me girlfriend! Celeste:)
