Boston On My Mind

It’s not a good day to be in Boston. With the door-to-door search for Boston Marathon bomb suspect, the city is essentially closed down. Residents must remain inside, preferably in their basements, and not open the door for anyone except a law enforcement officer.

I feel for the people of Boston – I can’t even imagine how frightening it must be to watch as a swat teams search your neighborhood and your house. It’s like living in the midst of a war.

It’s especially difficult for me to think about what’s going on in Boston since my niece and my husband’s family live there. I feel deeply for them. It’s also hard to imagine the normally bustling Mass Ave being shut down. That’s crazy!

If you’ve never been to Mass Ave, I should note that it’s normally a great place for vegans. Not only do they have Sudo, a vegan shoe store, but it’s also where, Life Alive, a fabulous vegan restaurant is located. Although you can’t go to the Cambridge Life Alive today, I highly recommend you get there someday – you won’t be disappointed.

I can’t imagine what it would be like to be there this week. So much of their lives have been disrupted. For most, life will eventually go back to normal. I feel for those whose lives have been changed forever by this senseless act.
