Beef – It’s what’s for Dinner or…

ImageI’m reading Kathy Freston’s book, Veganist, and I was struck by these quotes:

It takes many pounds of grain to create just one pound of meat – more than 16 to 1 in the case of beef. Put another way, a quantity of grain that could feed fifty people creates just one 8-ounce steak, a “small” steak by some standards.

If 1 in 10 people around the globe stopped eating animals, it would free up enough food to feed the 1 billion hungry.

It would only take 10% of the total population to become Vegan, and you can automatically feed one billion more people! But I think a major part of the problem? Too many people think “someone else” will do it.
